The Emmaus Arts Commission was created by Emmaus Borough Council to promote artistic programs that encourage community participation in both the visual and performing arts. The EAC serves as an advisory board to the Borough Council on all matters pertaining to the arts and the cultural development of the Borough. Comprised of community professionals representing business, education, art, and civic organizations, these individuals volunteer their time and talents to plan and implement several arts-related events for area residents throughout the year.

Appointed by Borough Council, each arts commissioner serves a 3-year term.

Making art—to make an impact.

The EAC’s mission and primary role is to help foster the arts and culture in Emmaus by creating programming and events that focus on the delivery of fine art exhibitions, music, theater/film, dance, and other art forms, with special emphasis on programming for children and youth. With support from Borough Council and area businesses, the EAC plans and implements year-round community arts events for the community including – Student Film Fest, SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival, EAC Photo Contest, and Chalk the Walk.

The EAC works closely with the Borough of Emmaus on projects to continually beautify our artistic community with ongoing programs through our Paint- A- Hydrant Program and Mural Program.

The EAC is proud to present an Art Award to an Emmaus High School senior each year to help them pursue their future creative goals.

Each year the EAC holds an Annual Fundraiser– past themes have included the Rain Barrel Auction, Best of the Nest Birdhouse Auction, Gnome Sweet Gnome Garden Gnome Auction, P.S. I Miss You Mailbox Auction.  EAC is appreciative of the local artists that donate their time and talent each year to our annual auction so that we can continue to provide the community with arts related events and programs. This year we will have Sweatin’ to the Gnomies 80s-inspired gnome Auction.
