Emmaus, PA --- Each year Emmaus Arts Commission hosts the SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival, a seasonal favorite for the Lehigh Valley.  The annual SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival has become a winter tradition, creating a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy this beautiful time of year.

Now in its 13th year, the 2019 event, hosted by the Emmaus Arts Commission, is being held Saturday, February 2, 2019 from noon to 7:00pm. Activities will take place at Triangle Park, Emmaus Public Library and various venues throughout town including stores and restaurants.

This event will feature local artist demonstrations throughout town on Saturday, this provides spectators an opportunity to view creativity first hand.  Another favorite of the event, the SnowBlast Community Art Project provides an art-enriching experience for the entire community. The collaborative art project invites artists of all skills and ages to contribute their time and talent to design and create public art pieces during SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival.  Artist of all ages will be able to add to their own colorful touch to this year’s collaboration titled String Art Project, Thank you to Conversational Threads for donating the yarn!  Join Emmaus Arts Commission for the 4th Annual Photo Contest.  The annual photo contest will take place at SnowBlast Headquarters, view photo entries from local photographers. Special guests will judge the photo entries for a chance to win prizes.

Outdoor activities during SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival  include many favorites such as an appearance by the SnowBlast Ice Princess; Triple Gold Medalist Laura Wetzel, live music and DJ sponsored by Wesley Works Entertainment, 4x International Extreme Wood Carver, Michael Blaine from Dreamwood, Giant Chalkboard Interactive Art and outdoor games! New to the lineup for 2019, an amazing fire performance by Flame Nouveau and Sculpted Ice Works will be doing a live ice sculpting demo in triangle park!  SnowBlast is loaded with fun things to do for the whole family. Many stores will be hosting live art demonstrations and special activities to warm folks coming in from the cold and local restaurants will provide “SnowBlast Chill Chaser” drink and food specials. SnowBlast Ice Bar hosted by Emmaus Main Street partners will feature drinks from Triple Sun Distillery and Funk Brewing Co. (21+, ID required). Fire pit warming stations will be setup to help us all stay toasty!  Support a winter hat & glove drive hosted by The Kindness Project, donate new hats and gloves to help local foster children stay warm during these cold winter months!

The SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival adds art related vitality to our Emmaus community and brings new and old friends to our downtown. Since 2005 the Emmaus Arts Commission has brought family-friendly events and artistic community pride to Emmaus and the Lehigh Valley. SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival, Art Silent Auction Projects, Chalk the Walk, Student Film Festival, Annual Photography Contest and other events are made possible through generous contributions and fundraising activities through the Emmaus Arts Commission and its sponsors and supporters.

  • 2:00- 7:00- Fire warming stations at Triangle Park to chase the chill away
  • 12:00-5:00-  Winter warmth clothing drive hosted by The Kindness Project
  • 2:00 to 3:00- Ice skating performance by the SnowBlast Ice Princess with photo opportunity
  • 3:00-5:00- Live Ice Sculpting demo by Ice Works in Triangle Park

  • 5:00-5:30- Fire performance by Flame Nouveau on the Triangle

Palette Walk Scavenger Hunt – A returning favorite!

Participant signs will be displayed on the door/window of the location. 

Visit a minimum of 10 participating businesses listed on the map, each participating venue will mark your "palette". Drop off your full palette by 7:00pm 2/2/19 (with name and contact information) to the SnowBlast Headquarters.  Winners will be notified at a later date. Stop in to SnowBlast Headquarters to pickup a SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival Palette Walk Map and palette, and to view the awesome prizes donated by Blick Art Supplies and Artist Lauren Kuhn.
