The Emmaus Arts Commission was created by Emmaus Borough Council to promote artistic programs that encourage community participation in both the visual and performing arts. The EAC serves as an advisory board to the Borough Council on all matters pertaining to the arts and the cultural development of the Borough. Comprised of community professionals representing business, education, art, and civic organizations, these individuals volunteer their time and talents to plan and implement several arts-related events for area residents throughout the year.
Appointed by Borough Council, each arts commissioner serves a 3-year term.
Making art—to make an impact.
The EAC’s mission and primary role is to help foster the arts and culture in Emmaus by creating programming and events that focus on the delivery of fine art exhibitions, music, theater/film, dance, and other art forms, with special emphasis on programming for children and youth. With support from Borough Council and area businesses, the EAC plans and implements year-round community arts events such as the SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival, the Rain Barrel Art Silent Auction, Chalk the Walk, Summer Strings Camp, and the Student Horror Film Festival.
